A GAME FOR NON-GAMERS

Great Find #2: LEFT4DEAD 2 

Here it is folks, the game that made me neglect my studies for days. I was so into this game, I'm playing even during class and during breaks, too bad I don't have a laptop at home that could run this but otherwise, I would have still played at home. What's the name of the game? That's right folks, as the image above says, it's Left4Dead 2. 

What is left4dead 2?

Left 4 Dead 2 is a single-player and multiplayer co-operative survival horror FPS game developed by Valve Corporation. It is the sequel to Left 4 Dead, it was first announced June 1st 2009 by Valve Corporation at Microsoft's E3 2009 press conference.

As of January 24, 2010, Metacritic gave Left 4 Dead 2 a metascore of 89 out of 100.

The Left 4 Dead 2 multiplayer demo was released on October 28th, for those who pre-ordered. It was then made available to the public on November 3rd.

The sequel picks up one week after the events of the first game (four weeks after the first infection) where The Infection has spread to the southern United States. Left 4 Dead 2 introduces three new Special Infected, new weapons, melee weapons, new items, upgraded Infected, the Uncommon Common Infected, five new campaigns, and two new game modes: Scavenge Mode and Realism Mode. 

Realism Versus and Mutations were later released with the The Passing DLC, a new campaign which chronologically fits in as the second campaign out of six.

The four Survivors the players control are Nick, Ellis, Rochelle, and Coach.

Why is it a great find?

As a non-gamer, this game was very enjoyable. Why? Mainly because it's a multiplayer game and it's very casual in nature (and the graphics is fine too!). One of your friends decided he/she wants to play games with you? Bam! Left4Dead 2! You don't even have to be a gamer to play this game. Unlike other games which are very complicated with lots of controls, missions, etc. this game is nowhere complicated. The controls are simple. It's the basic WSAD for movement, E for picking up items, R for reload, space for jump, mouse left click for shoot and right click for shove. Easy right? 

Another thing is compared to other shooting games, in this game you don't have to buy guns, you dont need to upgrade them, etc. Nothing complicated. You can simply pick up a gun you like in the floor or anywhere where it is located. You can pick up all you need on the go. And the zombies? Damn! I'm a great fan of anything zombie related (maybe that's why I l loved this game very much)  and I can say the zombies in this game is top-notch! Although each of the characters have no unique skills or characteristics, the variety of zombies (a.k.a infected in this game) and their unique characteristics is what makes this game very exciting! And since there are no unique skills for the characters, the player's skill is what going to make the difference. 

And lastly, this game is very very fun to play especially with friends. The biggest key to this game is team play. As the tagline of the game says, "Cooperate to Survive". For example, if one the player is assigned to a task (like holding a cola they need to deliver), the other players are supposed to cover him. And it even becomes more fun (but to others infuriating) is when one of your friends is a noob or beginner in this game. One mistake of him, can ruin everything! 

But don't worry folks, this game, is very noob friendly. (Trust me, I'm a noob)
