Websites You Didn't Know Existed But Should Probably Know About

There are thousands of websites around the web, and among that sea of websites, there are great ones just swimming under that deep sea, almost never getting noticed. I must admit, there are only about 5-10 websites that I visit regularly every day. But I've probably visited so many websites in my time in the internet, and there are few that are very noteworthy. If I were you, I would create a new bookmark folder and be ready to fill it with new bookmarks (that you probably would never visit again anyway) because here is a list of the websites unbeknownst to most people that are actually very useful and entertaining.

1. Have I been Pawnd? (Link)

This website basically tells you if your account was part of a public data breach. Chances are you're accounts probably are included. That is why I recommend the next website on the list for keeping your accounts safe.

2. Lastpass Account Manager and Password Generator ( Link 1| Link 2 )

LastPass is a secure password manager that have tons of great features other than storing passwords. They'll remember your password and can auto fill login forms only if you dictate it to. I was very hesitant to use it it when I first heard it, i thought it was pretty useless but when I did check the site, it was great. You can add all your accounts from different websites, make secure notes and etc. And also, when making passwords, I suggest you use the lastpass password manager, you can customize the password you want to be generated (how long, the characters that will be used, etc)

3. The Useless Web (Link)

The Useless Web is indeed useless, but can keep you company for hours when you are bored. In just one click it will take you another useless website. The websites I was redirected to was pretty amusing.

One of my favorite sites from that website: Eelslap.com (GO AND VISIT IT)

4. Archive.org (Link)

Archive.org is an archive of almost anything in the internet from old movies, retro games, softwares, albums, books, etc. There are a lot of great stuffs in here and it's free!

5. Gutenberg (Link)

A big library of free books that you can either download or read online. From astronomy, fiction, politics, mathematics, and any other categories you can think of. They also have free kindle books here!

6. DocumentaryHeaven (Link)

The name says it all, it's a website with loads of documentaries, from old documentaries to the latest, which are neatly categorized (You can even download them!).

7. Patrickjmt (Link)

Patrickjmt is popular for its youtube channel, but it also has a website. It's a compilation of all the math tutorials Patrick did. It's very popular for college students (for higher level math) and is often used as a substitute for Khan Academy at their level. They have tons of tutorials for almost any math lesson you can think of.

8. Adobe Color CC (Link)

Great for graphic designers out there. You can use it to create color palettes and themes. It gives you the HEX and RGB code too. It's a product by Adobe so you know its great, and it's FREE, Adobe made something FREE.

9. Unroll.me (Link)

The best service out there to help you manage your emails. It basically helps you to easily unsubscribe from any subscription list that you don't need. It only takes seconds or minutes with Unroll in what would otherwise take you lots of time to do manually.

 10. Wait But Why (Link)

Have you ever watched this video before? If you don't you should, you'll probably be amazed on how much you can relate to this after the video, it's different from all those usual talks about procrastination. The great thing here is, the speaker has a blog where he makes this kind of contents!

He has a blog named WaitButWhy where he tackles any topic that interests him, and in each articles he writes, you can see the uniqueness in each one. He makes it very easy to digest (Like the CRISPR article) accompanied by funny illustrations. I suggest you check out this one, even if you are a non-reader, you will find yourself very entertained and hooked while reading his articles.

11. Temp-mail (Link)

Temp-mail gives you disposable emails that will be terminated after just a few minutes. But what for? Remember when you visit a website and you need to read something or download something but they won't allow it unless you have an account? Yup, this is what it's for. You wouldn't want to be using your main account for those type of things.

12.The Oatmeal (Link)

It's a website for funny and unique comics made by a single man. It's not very well known because of his humor that would otherwise offend a lot of people most of the time. The Oatmeal is kinda hated in Reddit though because the guy's kind of a dick but his content are great (the art style is great too, very fitting), especially the inspirational ones.

I suggest you read this one first: You're Not Going to Believe What I'm About to Tell You.

13. You are not a Photographer (Link)

A funny and somehow cringey website that is made to ridicule bad photos shot by supposed to be "professional photographers".

14. YTS (Link)

Great site for downloading movie torrents. It has a very nice UI and easy to use compared to other sites, it also has a partner website where you can download subtitles of the movie. It is regularly updated with new movies and offers them in different resolutions. Another great thing about this site is, you don't have to search up the movie if you're unsure if its worth a watch, if  you click the thumbnail of the movie it redirects you to the download page with a matching summary of the movie, trailer and reviews from Imdb.

15. Crucial (Link)

Want to upgrade your pc or laptop components but not sure what to buy and what is compatible? Crucial helps you with that. It scans your computer and gives you a list of products that is compatible and works best on your system's specifications and capabilities.

16. Mp3cut.foxcut (Link)

Simply one of the best (if not, the best) online mp3 cutter out there. It has a very easy and simple design. It works faster than all the other online cutters I've used.

17. Electronics-tutorials.ws (Link)

Interested in electronics but don't know where to start?

18. Earth.Nullschool.net (Link)

From their website, "Earth is a visualization of global weather conditions forecast by supercomputers updated every three hours". You can literary directly see a hurricane developed or move!

19. Google Scholar (Link)

Contains a library of research journals. This is really great for those who are making their thesis or research.

20. The Art of Manliness (Link)

One of the best blogs out there. Art of Manliness, as it's name implies, talks about being a man, the challenges they face and how to overcome them, interest, etc. It contains lots of stuffs such as workouts, fashion tips, survival tips, skills you should learn, etc. The writers of the site are mainly professionals (check their about page). And they have a podcast too!

22. FreeSound (Link)

With this, you no longer have to settle with those sfxs and background musics with the audio jungle watermark in them. This site gives you FREE music. This site is mostly aimed for theater.

23. MEGA (Link)

My favorite cloud storage out there. It offers you 50 GB of free space, nuff said. It has great UI and is pretty secure. It also has a desktop app where you can sync the files from your pc and into cloud.

That's all for this list, if you have anymore suggested websites, share them on the comments below!
